Austria — Bakery & Pastry buyers
Austrian bread is sold in supermarkets and mostly baked in their own ovens. Grocery now takes more than four fifths of bread turnover, and discount has roughly doubled its share since 2022. The national bread seal requires Austrian grain, so an import competes on format instead.Czechia — Bakery & Pastry buyers
Czechia is the shortest export step for a Central-European bakery. Kaufland, Lidl and Albert bake off part-baked bread in their own ovens (bake-off). Makro covers foodservice, the shelf runs on promotions, and your lorries have a short drive from Poland. A Czech listing usually extends into Slovakia.Denmark — Bakery & Pastry buyers
Two groups supply almost all of Denmark's packaged bread and the in-store bake-off behind it. That closes the everyday bread shelf and opens three others: sweet and ambient bakery, foodservice, and Nordic own-brand. Hungarian bread is baked in the shop, not delivered finished. Every chain runs an in-store oven, and frozen mini pastry sold by weight is a channel of its own. Bread escapes the public-health tax on sugar and salt, but packed sweet pastry does not.Romania — Bakery & Pastry buyers
Romania caps the shop margin on plain white bread, and only on that. Specialty bread, pastry and sweet bakery sit outside the cap, so that is where a buyer can still earn. Bake-off is the normal bread format in modern retail here.Sweden — Bakery & Pastry buyers
Swedish fresh bread does not travel through the retailers' own warehouses. A separate bread-distribution trade delivers competing brands to shops in the same truck. For a foreign bakery that means frozen, bake-off or a Swedish partner, not a direct shelf listing.
